El apartado gráfico no tiene nada que envidiar a las grandes superproducciones, ya que el uso del Unreal Engine 3 junto a los escenarios post-apocalípticos y a la inmersiva y a veces claustrofóbica cabina, siempre en primera persona, le da un toque personal a los juegos de acción multijugador. Escenarios muy cuidados y suficientemente extensos como para perderse además de que se puede subir al tejado de muchos edificios usando los potentes propulsores de estos amasijos de hierro para esconderse y atacar .
Con una jugabilidad a medio camino entre arcade y simulador, este juego contentará a todos por igual ya sean veteranos o recién iniciados en el género de la acción. Gracias en parte a la forma en que se mueven los mechas, desde Adhesive Games nos cuentan que quisieron darle todo el realismo posible pero sin que ello afecte a la jugabilidad por ello, han dotado a los robots de una movilidad y agilidad asombrosa pero también les han dado un peso para que parezcan realmente una mole de hierro de grandes dimensiones. Esto también varía dependiendo del robot a elegir, ya que dispondremos de varios tipos, dividiéndose mayormente en mechas pesados, medios y ligeros.
Como decíamos anteriormente, tenemos varios tipos de robots a elegir que conforman las clases, como si de un MMO se tratase. Tenemos tres tipos de robots atendiendo a su armadura, velocidad y capacidad de energía. Así mismo, dentro de cada grupo de robots, se diferencian tres clases distintas. Para la armadura ligera disponemos de Berseker, Infiltrador y Explorador; en armadura media tenemos disponibles el francotirador, asalto y matón; y por último con armadura pesada podemos elegir entre Peleón, Cohetero y Granadero. Todos ellos con armas y características únicas.
Cada robot se puede personalizar y modificar a gusto de cada uno, pudiendo cambiar casi todo, tanto de forma visual, como jugable. Se pueden cambiar sus armas, armadura, ventajas, pintura de guerra y muchas cosas más, todo está disponible con puntos Hawken que se obtienen jugando normalmente, o con puntos Meteor que se obtienen mediante micropagos. Como en un MMO cada robot tiene un árbol de mejoras, basado en puntos y que se divide en 3 ramas básicas que son: ataque, defensa y movimiento.
