Cuenta la leyenda que los Caballeros siempre aparecen cuando las fuerzas del Mal intentan apoderarse del mundo. En un tiempo lejano existió un grupo de jóvenes que protegían a Atenea, Diosa de la Sabiduría y la Guerra. Se les conocía como Los Caballeros de Atenea y eran tan valientes que combatían con la única ayuda de sus manos. Se dice que un puñetazo suyo era capaz de partir el cielo en dos y que de un solo puntapié abrían grietas en la tierra. Ahora, un nuevo grupo de Caballeros ha surgido.
Tras la cancelación de la tercera temporada de Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas por su escasa repercusión en Japón, parte del equipo que produjo la exitosa saga de Hades en 2002 se embarcó en el nuevo proyecto de Omega. La serie ha sido estrenada en abril y ha tenido un éxito rotundo. Aun así, no ha estado exenta de críticas, ya que los fans de anteriores generaciones señalan que ahora la serie va dirigida a un público más infantil. A pesar de todo, Saint Seiya ha vuelto a primer plano de la actualidad, así que Namco Bandai ha aprovechado para lanzar un nuevo videojuego.
Tal y como os contamos en Xombit Games hace poco más de un mes, se han ido filtrando tráilers de presentación del juego e imágenes que han dejado patente que la saga está más viva que nunca, gracias a una producción espectacular y un buen trabajo de documentación. El nuevo juego está situado tras la llegada de Marte a la Tierra y la repentina desaparición de la diosa Atenea. La nueva generación de caballeros tiene la misión de encontrarla y recuperar el control del Santuario, que ha caído en manos del maléfico Dios de la Guerra.
Poco a poco se van desvelando los nombres que formarán parte de los personajes jugables. Koga de Pegaso, Yuna de Águila, Soma de León Menor, Ryuho del Dragón, Haruto del Lobo o Edén de Orión compartirán protagonismo con los archiconocidos Seiya (ahora Caballero de Oro de Sagitario), Ikki, Shun, Shiryu, Camus o Marin.
El sistema de combate estará basado en los ataques normales y los combos. Cuando nuestros golpes impacten en el adversario se irá rellenando una barra de energía, barra de cosmos, que nos permitirá lanzar poderosos ataques. Además, el juego incluye técnicas finales para cada personaje, cuyo poder de destrucción es mortal, ya que permiten acabar con nuestro rival de un sólo golpe.
Todavía se desconoce la fecha de lanzamiento en nuestro país, aunque todo parece indicar que podría irse hasta finales de 2013. Mientras tanto podemos ir abriendo boca con esta fantástica galería de imágenes donde podemos ver la recreación de algunos de los personajes y movimientos que formarán parte de Saint Seiya Omega: Ultimate Cosmos.

¡Enorme! ¡un juego para desempolvar la psp claramente!. Jrande la cita de la intro de la serie jejeje.
Acabo de terminar de ver Saint Seiya Lost Canvas y no puedo entender por qué en Japón no ha gustado. Omega es más estilo Pokémon, he ahí la cuestión…
El problema con the lost canvas es que pa los japos es poco respetuosa con el dibujo original y para ellos eso es ya… amos, el acabose jaja. A mi me parece mucho mas original y currada que todo lo demás de saint seiya pero que se le va a hacer…
Sin duda, es la que mejor argumento y diálogos tiene… por lo menos en el doblaje en castellano y los nuevos personajes estaban bien, sobre todo Hades, me gustaba más en Lost Canvas que en la saga de Hades… a ver Omega, aunque esa hasta el año que viene no llega en castellano
