¡Vuelven los Cazafantasmas! Capcom tiene los derechos de la popular saga y ha encomendado a Beeline Inc. el desarrollo de un videojuego para los dispositivos de iOS: iPhone, iPad y iPod Touch de cara al 2013. La App será de tipo social y permitirá a los usuarios encarnar el papel de un cazafantasmas en su afán de exterminar cualquier rastro de espectro de las calles de Nueva York.
La jugabilidad se basará en ir consiguiendo puntos de experiencia y recompensas con los que obtener mejor equipamiento en nuestra lucha contra el nuevo mal que amenaza la ciudad. El juego será gratuito, pero incluirá un sistema de micropagos mediante el cual podremos mejorar las prestaciones de nuestro personaje.
Mark Caplan, vicepresidente de productos de consumo de Sony Pictures, cree que el estudio encargado del desarrollo del juego es el idóneo, ya que ha demostrado su buen hacer en títulos similares y de gran éxito como Smurf´s Village o Snoopy’s Street Fair.
Beeline es el socio perfecto para llevar lejos el éxito de Ghostbusters en el espacio interactivo. Tenemos puestas muchas ilusiones en el proyecto.
Otra de sus principales características es que podremos jugar en equipo con más amigos gracias a un completísimo modo cooperativo. El juego apostará por un estilo de dibujo animado y nos obligará a gestionar nuestros recursos para obtener artilugios y trampas especiales. El equipo estará formado por los cazafantasmas originales y una nueva generación en la que destaca la presencia de una chica de armas a tomar.
El videojuego vendrá acompañado de un nuevo serial de cómics escrito por Erik Burnham y dibujado por Dan Schoening. Cada ejemplar contará con un contenido de treinta y dos páginas a todo color y promete ser uno de los bombazos del 2013. Además, se está preparando una nueva secuela cinematográfica que podría ver la luz en 2014, coincidiendo con el trigésimo aniversario de la película original.
