Esta misma tarde Electronic Arts hizo saltar la banca con la confirmación de los que serán los primeros títulos que desembarcarán en la Xbox One. Andrew Wilson, vicepresidente de EA Sports, subsidiaria de la desarrolladora norteamericana, llevó la batuta en la presentación de la nueva hornada de simuladores deportivos.
Como no podía ser de otro modo, los títulos que hicieron acto de presencia en el espectacular vídeo de introducción, que contó con la colaboración de deportistas de la talla de Lionel Messi o Kyrie Irving, pertenecían a cuatro de sus más fructíferas franquicias: FIFA 14, Madden 25, NBA Live 14 y UFC; que irán llegando de forma escalonada al flamante centro de ocio de los de Redmond.
EA Sports Ignite
Mención aparte merece el nuevo motor gráfico empleado por EA Sports para la próxima generación. Dicho engine, utilizado en los cuatro simulares, promete difuminar la realidad de lo virtual, ofreciendo un nivel de detalle de la animación 10 veces mayor, una mejorada inteligencia artificial, público en tres dimensiones y un sinfín de mejoras orientadas a potenciar los juegos. Según el propio Wilson:
EA Sports Ignite, unido a la potencia de las videoconsolas de la próxima generación, conseguirán que nuestros títulos cobren vida con más autenticidad, emoción, conectividad y diversión.
Asimismo, se hizo oficial que el acuerdo entre Microsoft y EA reportará ciertas ventajas a los usuarios de Xbox One. Buena muestra de ello es que, el famoso modo de juego online FIFA Ultimate Team, será contenido exclusivo de Xbox One en esta nueva entrega. Todavía nos faltan muchos detalles por conocer, pero queda patente su apuesta por los juegos deportivos; con el E3 a la vuelta de la esquina, no podemos hacer otra cosa que esperar con los dientes largos.
